New Year's Resolutions

Dec 29, 2009: This time of the year, people begin to think about making New Year's Resolutions. All those things they want to do this year like losing weight or quitting smoking. And ususally by the end of January, these resolutions have fallen to the wayside. Why is that?

It is because the resolution was directed at an activity - not your mindset.

You need to change the way you think in order to change the results you have. Thoughts are energy - neither good nor bad. They are the catalyst for your feelings, beliefs and subsequent actions.

To improve your life, you need to change your thoughts and combine this with action that will get the results you desire.

So, for this year, why not pick a thought to change? For instance, you could begin with "I love myself and make healthy choices." Keep repeating this to yourself whenever you can. Add to this, the question: what would be healthy at this moment? Is it working out or sitting on the couch? Is it eating a piece of fruit or a piece of pie?

Over time, you will see that your choices match your intention of "I love myself and make healthy choices".
